Book Voucher programme

The National Book Council (Centro Nacional del Libro) has created the Book Voucher as an instrument to promote greater access to books and book reading by the general population. In turn, this will help to boost the commercialisation of titles on offer during The International Book Fair Venezuela 2005 event, to be held in November this year. The Book Vouchers will be raffled by The National Book Council among the public who attend the workshops organized by the the School of Reading (Escuela de la Lectura) during the Fair. Furthermore, various different state institutions will also distribute these, to the benefit of their employees, with the aim of helping them acquire books during the event.

The Book Voucher is a personal, non transferable coupon that may be exchanged for booksbeing retailed by the exhibitors participating in The International Book Fair Venezuela 2005 for the period of the whole event, between 11th and 20th November.

Procedures

The exhibitor at The International Book Fair Venezuela 2005 may collect the Book Vouchers between 11th and 20th November. Having received them, they must then be rubber stamped by their company and handed in to stand Nº 1 of The National Book Council (Cenal).

Cenal will organise the payment of the Book Vouchers offered by the exhibitor, before his departure, in the case of an overseas exhibitor, and ten working days before in the case of a national exhibitor.

Vouchers may not be exchanged for money.

If the cost of the book is less than the amount of the voucher, the bearer will not receive money for the difference.

A sample of the Book Voucher will be shown the exhibitor on the first day of The International Book Fair Venezuela 2005 to be identified.

Originals must be rubber stamped by The National Book Council (Cenal).
